charging problem

Hi guys..

Today when I was loading .223 ammo for my SPR, I was having some problems..
I am using dillon RL 550b press, and on the second stage where I charge my case, some times the neck will some how push the powder funnel up and spill all over while the case did not completely go up into the powder die. Also sometimes, when i raise my roller handle up, some powder will spill all over. I am using 24.1 grains, so there is no over flowing for sure..

any recommendations?

Perhaps a burr on the case mouth is snagging, if you did not chamfer them?

You do have the correct button to keep the brass against the shellplate at that station?

Have you re-adjusted anything since the last use? Check that everything on the shell holder is for 223 along with the shell holder itself.

I'm guessing by now that you have found the problem, but for anything Dillon, call them first. They are the most helpful, easy to talk with support people I have ever dealt with. Besides, if there is a replacement part needed, you are already on the phone with them and it's free.

What Headgear said, if you haven't fixed it by now call Dillon, they'll fix you up in no time.
