I was on my way over to post this, when I saw that you had already started a thread....

Indeed, a brilliant guy at every level. Always worth listening to and though I occasionally disagreed with the man... it was rare and I could never fault his logic.

An amazing life... an amazing brain. Perhaps we'll see a miracle... if not, his obituary needs to read "He was of the highest-intellect and accomplishment."

Sad day for, as you guys above have said, a class act.

I don’t often get to hear a farewell speech from someone while they are still alive. It is really sad and disheartening. I don’t think I could give half of a speech like that if I knew I were gonna die in a month. This guy’s lack of animosity for the world is stunning to me

I have enjoyed his brilliance for many years. He used to have that syndicated newspaper column. I subscribed to the Buffalo News years longer than I otherwise would have just for that.

Good guy but a never Trumper, his voice of reasonableness is questionable. But yes I read his columns for more than 2 decades.

One thing I notice over the past few years is the deep cover democrat/deep staters inside the "republican" and "Conservative" movements have been forced to blow their cover.

A life well lived, and a voice of reason in troubling times. His sign off reminds me much of President Reagan’s, another voice of reason much needed in our nation right now. Godspeed.
