So I've been pondering a new build for a long range rifle and I've been intrigued by the chassis systems on the market. My question is two fold, first, for those of you who are already shooting with a chassis, which one is it and how do you like it? The second question is, I know of 3 manufacturers who build them, but I'm guessing there are more, who am I missing? Thank you.

The Chassis Systems I know of are as follows:

    <ul style="list-style-type: disc">[*] Accurancy International AICS[*] XLR Chassis[*] JAE 700 Chassis [/list]

Whiskey 3,Mcree, rock solid, There are others just use the google function below the shout box

I like the feel of a conventional stock though so I went with a manners t4a with the mini chassis in it, best of both worlds

Well there it is! Thank you Jimichanga, I tried searching the forums but did not see this. Wow, I had no idea there were so many. I've been a Winchester guy for years but these may make me a 700 fan yet!

Just save yourself thousands of dollars and just buy an AI to start with instead of going through the rest of that list...well unless you buy a Manners

    Great advice!

I run both an AI AX and a Manners T4A with a mini-chassis. Love them both. Both are for sure "top tier" in performance. Certainly won't go wrong with these.

Gary Eliseo makes a great chassis system. I am extremely pleased with mine.

if you do a google search for "Competition Machine" you will find his website. The chassis system he makes is one of the most modular and adjustable I have seen yet.

McRee makes a good one as well. In fact, I will probably task McRee with making a chassis for my M98 that I am going to be building this coming year.

I run a xlr....I went with the chassis for one reason... I'm 6 foot 3 and 240 lbs......no traditional stock works for me...the closest was my McMillan a4.. but I had to fight it.... the xlr adjusted out perfect ..and I have not looked back... infact. I'm about to change over to nothing but xlr....even over the AX CHASSIS... the xlr just work better for me

I run Both the AICS and the XLR Carbon with the extreme butt stock. The AICS is great and if you look around you will find them used now and then for a excellent price. Some new skins (If needed) or Viper Skins and you have it made. Hard to beat for the money. All that said I prefer the XLR. I'm going to them for all the LR / Tactical rifles from here on out. A little more $$$ but the quality and ergos are fantastic. Not to mention the killer looks if that is your thing. Give Kyle a call and he will set you up with something you will love!
