My choice was a Mcree and I couldn't be happier. All the options I wanted at a much better price than most out there. Plus, Scott Mcree is a great guy to deal with.
I got a Cadex Strike 33 from Drake. Chris Drake was extremely helpful< sent me free upgrades for the chassis and it arrived weeks before scheduled. Couldn't be more pleased with the Chassis and the customer service>
My chassis was used for the M24E2 prototype from Superior tactical Solutions. Just waiting for the Defiance to be shipped to STS to complete the build. Highly recommend both Drake and STS
McMillan A5 fully glassed in, clamp bar adj. cheek piece, LOP spacer sys, Decelerator Pad, inleted for Surgeon DBM, and AI mags both in 5 rd and 10 rd. If it were my rifle.
After built, the recoil wouldn't be hardly anything to speak of.

What is this chassis system made of?</div></div>
Aluminum
You want to make sure you have a stock recoil lug as its limited in size if the rifle is just a boxed Remington 700 no worries...

I have a 700 5R so It should work fine, I like this chassis, any problems with the optic height? How high does it sit?
It sits high but you can adjust the cheek, the only issue I had is, I wasn't planning on using the rifle in the chassis long and I didn't loctite the top rail and it immediately came loose. I was shooting it and everything started going south and the rail was loose.
Also if you have an oversized bolt knob like i do, the stock does not fold over it as like it is supposed too, knob is in the way. It's meant to capture the bolt and only works with a bone stock Remington.
If your knob is large and your barrel is stock, then I recommend the AX chassis from AI...
By far I use more AI chassis than any other and they are always on target.
If you don't mind spending the money, then look up the Ashbury Precision Ordnance Chassis, they accommodate more center sections to work with a larger variety of configurations
Brad at STS is using a smaller size tactical knob that fits the chassis with the stock folded.
visit the website... superiortactical.com for some pics.
It's certainly pricey but if you have had your eyes on the RACS this is about as close as you can get.
I was actually quite surprised at how tight the folding butt locked up as well as the adjustments.
I bought the chassis first then spec'd the the rifle around the use of the chassis. unfortunetly theoriginal Defiance didn't fit because it was built with a larger ejection port to facility the 338 and didnt line up with the back of the rail.
But a stock 700 will drop right in
Take a look at this rifle. This rifle belongs to another member here on the hide. It turned out "really nice" if you ask me. If I remember correctly, I don't think it rides as high as one might think. I believe this is what the owner stated about the chassis. Anyway, give it a look. I bet this gentleman could help you out tremendously with this chassis system
I'm a big fan of the AX Chassis. I find them to be very comfortable and while I don't have scientific data, it just feels like the recoil impulse is smoother with an AX chassis vs a lot of others. The forend is nice for odd position shooting and if you ever run NV devices.

I've handled that chassis, along with a lot of others out there and I think the Ashbury and AX are the best available. Just my opinion.
