Great idea - they never had 100rd .308 boxes whenever I'm at the Cabelas store so I figured they didn't make any and never bothered looking again. Didn't put two and two together that if .308 and .45 use the same shell holders, shell plates, etc. that they just might indeed work that way as well for a loading block! I bet one of my 9mm cases would conveniently work for .223! You have me on a roll now!

Aren't the cases too close together to easily grab a hold of? Traditionally, my method was to set up cases in the loading block, charge, then lightly get a bullet started in each one, then one by one, put them in the press and seat the bullet. Seems like that loading block would make it difficult to do this.
My cheapie loading blocks are a 12" long hunk of 2x4 lumber with .5" holes drilled in it. I use an Irwin spade-drill, so I get a flat-bottomed hole. I wrap some tape around the drill to serve as a stop.

I cut that hinge piece off (and obviously the lid) after I took the picture - I have no desire to be able to close these since they are being used as loading blocks. They were easy to grab but you could use every other cell if you were not comfortable with the space. I charge a case and seat the bullet vs. charging all the cases at once since the time it takes the auto charger to dispense is just enough time to turn to the right finish off the cycle.
For $3.00 you can't beat it.

I just use the empty trays from pistol ammunition boxes and i pick them up free at the range and when they wear out or get broke toss 'em
and they come in various sizes
