I've got a Howa .270 that I replaced the factory stock with the new Hogue Overmold with the full bedding block in it. Nice stock but sits and inch too low for the scope and is preventing me from shooting comfortably. I need an adjustable cheek piece to get me to the height I need. A friend of mine made the suggestion for the Defensive Edge stock piece and it looks good but I want to make sure that it would work on the Hogue stock.

Also would be open for any other suggestions as well. I do not want something like the thing that Blackhawk offers with the shoe strings to hold it to the stock. Had one on my Savage 308, and it worked great if I wanted to slide it over and take a nap on it, not so much for shooting though.

Thanks

Re: Cheek Weld Riser

In Brownells catalog ( page 323 of catalog #62) there some items called D&E Scope EZE. There are sticky-back molded rubber comb risers. They come in different heights from 1/4" to 1 1/8".
They were developed to adjust the combs on trap shotguns but I have them on several hunting rifles. Their advantage is they just raise the comb heigth and don't make the butt any wider so they don't push your eye farther away from centerline. They are not really cheap at $35-$45 but I have had several for 15 or 20 years and they are GTG products.

I have used industrial grade velcro and mated it to the comb and a piece of sleeping mat. It aint pretty, but it works and is easily removed for cleaning.
