Just wondering about shortening and re-crowning a chrome lined barrel ie: FN Tacical Rifle. Are there any pitfalls with the chrome lining when cutting through or into it.

Thanks in advance

Re: Chrome lined Barrels

I have done a few.
Never had a problem using carbide tooling.

Re: Chrome lined Barrels

Is there a possibility of cracking of chipping the chromed liner. I don't want to sound like an idiot but could anyone elaborate on the process of chrome lining etc. Benefit's vs pitfalls of chrome lining. Re-chambering. Cleaning bore regiment etc. As far as I know only FN uses this process in its precision rifles. Please can anyone chime in. I have not heard much about the subject.
