Chronograph Recomendations

Re: Chronograph Recomendations

LOL beat ya by 15sec.

427, do you have the Infra Red skyscreens? I know alot recommend them. I still have the standard screens that came with the basic kit and so far so good but I am considering buying them.

Re: Chronograph Recomendations

I would recommend the CED M2 also.

samson: The infra red screens aren't generally needed. They're for conditions where the screens can't get enough light, like shooting indoors, mounting your chrono in a box, or early morning/late evening/heavy overcast.

No I don't have IR screens, so far I hadn't needed them, I have used mine in sunny and cloudy weather, I even set my old Chrony Beta Master in front then the M2, and most read close but a few were way off, and I really like the simple button setup the M2 has, shoot a 5 round string, AVG gives you the average speed, SD and ES are the same, fast easy output is a big improvement over Chrony brand.

Exactly what buyobuyo said.

I have the exact same one and way way way better than my now retired Shooting Chrony Alpha. I have had the Prochrono from midway for about 6months now and have never had a single ERROR etc. I used to constantly get Errors using the Shooting Chrony. Best $99 spent.

I think it sucks balls.

I want a CED M2 or prochrono.

Would love an Oehler, but i need both kidneys. </div></div>

I could have sworn back in college, my bio professor told me that you only technically need half a kidney to survive. However, true that is, I can not confirm.

Anyways, I got a Shooting Chrony and also a ProChrono digital. I wouldn't say Shooting Chrony sucks balls. They work for their price. But sometimes they can be finicky with lighting. As long as I keep it away from shadows, it works good. However, for the price range, I think the Prochrono is A LOT better as I have had it work in almost all conditions. Even when overcast by a shadow, it still works. Just me 2 cents.

Re: Chronograph Recomendations

I just got the CED M2 with the IR set up. Didnt get the NiCad battery back up but instead run a inverter and a extention cord from my truck. It is the most accurate and consistant chrono I have ever used but all of those freakin electrical leads are a real pain in the ass.
