i just ordered a cimmaron evil roy single action 357 thats compitition tuned. my brother got one and i loved his. i got it to carry in my tree stand this year. im hunting next to a river and there are a ton of hogs so i want some knock down power if porky comes by. can't have a rifle while bow hunting. how safe are these to carry fully loaded. should i let it set on a open chamber. dont think these have the hammer saftey like the vaqueros do. thanks to all

Similar to the Colt SAA your "Evil Roy" has a firing pin staked to the hammer so there is no "safety" so to speak and you do want to carry it with the hammer down on an empty chamber. Otherwise the firing pin is resting on a live primed cartridge (need I say more......?) Like all imported sidearms it has a drop safety feature (required) but it's actually a double pin on the cylinder that blocks rotation when pushed all the way in. That won't help with the slap of the hammer if dropped or caught and released on a loaded chamber.

Carry it with 5 and leave the hammer down on the empty cylinder. The Evil Roy is a great firearm. I am a big fan of single actions (CASS). With practice you can become very accurate and quick.
