^^^This. but if you want it looking new let it sit in some gun solvent than go to town with wire brush and qtips.

Drop it in a can of slip 2000 if you really want all the carbon gone. Mine looks the same after 3 rounds as it does 300 so I dont bother with it.

I don't usually clean my brakes, but when I do I use Bore Tech Eliminator.
I just wipe off the outside of it with the solvent. When I do fool with the ports I usually use a copper brush in my cordless drill and a couple Q-Tips.
