cleaning question for Steyr SBS

I would like to know how you clean the safety bushing surface area between it and the receiver
(bushing that enclosed the lugs when the bolt is closed)

i diddn't even know about the bushing until i used a chamber brush to clean the locking lug recess, and turned it a little so the bolt would not go into battery.

i like my .376 Steyr, but it's pretty strange...

and did you have a hard time putting it back to its original position

E mail steyr in Austria and got that answer back concerning the cleaning of the safety bushing in the steyr SBS rifle. [img:center]

thank you for your email and for becoming a STEYR MANNLICHER customer.
The bushing is called SBS ring (Safe Bolt System). This ring is running in a honed and polished
area and it is under pressure. Therefore there is no way, that dirt can get into this closed system.

You should clean the gun as you clean any other gun.

i just mop it out with a patch or chamber mop.

it wasn't too tough to get back into place after i figured out what the deal was.
