Cleaning Question

I have a question related to the size of the cleaning rod, brush, jag, etc. I should be using for a .22LR rifle barrel. Should I use a .22 or a .20 for the rod, brash and jag?

Appreciate any help you can provide.

On some 22LR barrels the grooves are high enough to imprint rifling onto .22 size rods.

Been there, done that. Unfortunately.

Interesting. Didn't know that. Well, I can tell you it's not a problem on a Vudoo ACE barrel or a Shilen ratchet rifled barrel. Plenty of clearance
My experience was with a soviet rifle (Vostok) and Boretech rod.
I have also read that some CZ owners have had a similar issue.

My Quad has no problems either. There are surprisingly big differences in 22LR rifles. The lead is forgiving.

I´ve ruined the barrel on my CZ455 with a .22 Dewey rod.
It was a bull barrel and it was shooting like nuts before.

Since then I hate myself.

But hey, I´ve ordered a Lothar Walther barrel now, hoping it will shoot even better than before.
