I have had a stainless barreled action duracoated.I want to remove the duracoat that is on the crown. Is there a easy way to remove this over-spray of duracoat ?
I dont want to use any chemicals ,any surgestions
any replys appreciated
Thanks Jason

Re: Cleaning up duracoat on a crown

You'd rather use sand paper than chemicals on your crown?

I dont know about Duracoat but Cerakote is a pain to remove with anything but a sand blaster. My crown/muzzle is painted tan, and my rifle is black/gray. I just left the muzzle tan cause its the muzzle and anything on that end wont know the difference

It was just a bit of primer over-spray that was removed in less than a minute.I cant see it doing any damage it was the finest wet/dry that you can buy.More like lightly polishing the crown if anything and i stayed away from the muzzle

I duracoated my 5R black. It has pretty much blown all the black around the crown off after only a couple hundred rounds.

Copper jacketed projectiles at Mach 2-3 tend to remove the finish where they touch it in pretty quick order.
