Gunsmithing CLEAR COAT PROCESS. NUMBER OF COATS. SANDPAPER GRIT ETC

Coming to the end of a F Class/Benchrest build.

I have decided to finish it with clear coat. Don’t have a compressor so looking for the name of a Clear Coat people have used from a can.
Any detailed description of the process with number of coats and what grit of sandpaper would help as well.

The stock is a composite stock.

If you're leaning toward polyurethane and have a well ventilated area consider spar varnish.
