Is there anyone out there who has experience and or an opinion on the 1776 Revolution front sight produced by Clear Image Solutions. I came across this product the other day and I have to admit that it intrigues me. Thinking about it as a possible BUIS on a .308 AR. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated

Looks like a good idea and makes sense but how does it do in the field. What kind of distances are you shooting. What color insert would you suggest. I at first thought i would go with green but now i wonder if i would lose it against a green background. Thanks

I've only had a chance to use the sight twice and both were bench rest shooting on a new gun so my time is very limited with the product. I shot out to 550 meters the second time out. Field of view, sight picture is what sets this apart from others. Easy to adjust the elevelation without any tools. I would advise using Locktight on the locking screw once zero'ed as it come loose easily!

Overall, I like the medium size red dot. I also have the full lense set in green. I found the green color gets lost in my environment but going to try the smallest green lense for bench rest, long range next time out. At about 300 meters and beyond the medium size dot begins to cover too much of the target for my liking. For target shooting at those ranges I don't think color matters that much.

The sight is large, heavy and built like at tank. It's also the only real con to the product if you are worried about weight, I would like to see them make a lense with a simple chevron similar to this: /\

Hope this helps .

Extremely helpful thank you very much

PB - Just using it as a normal front sight aperture with a rear A2 style carry handle peep. My AR10 ended up waaaaaay too heavy IMHO for other types of fast or dynamic shooting, 11 lbs on the nose! @##%^%&^%$

I've been focusing on keeping the floating dot centered in the peep. The difference being you can see your target easier as you don't have the rest of a traditional front sight post obstructing your view. Not so say it could not be used in the way you suggested. Hope I answered your question correctly this time!

Understand that, sounds pretty solid. Seems like it would definitely give a cleaner sight picture. I’d like to see if these could work on a Palma/XTC set up over a regular globe front sight.

I appreciate your experience.
