Hey guys.

Figured I would say hello instead of hanging around and just reading everything. Been lurking for quite a while, and have found this site to be quite great.

Well here is the rifle that I am currently shooting. It is a basic Ismach CM-2 russian biathlon rifle. I currently have a BSA scope on her and am currently looking for a new scope to put on her.

If you guys have any ideas on any scopes for a .22 rifle that would be great for 100 yards or more would be great. I would like to keep the cost to below $500 if possible.

Re: CM-2 rifle

Does that have the really fine cross hair lines?

If so it may be the best option.

Thanks Ricos

Here is the scope I am also looking at currently. Just waiting on a check from the sale of an air rifle to fund the buy.

Closest place to myself, so I don't have to wait very long. They are rated for powder burners as well as air rifles, of course.

Re: CM-2 rifle

Sweet thanks for the link Ricos!

I like the look of the scope really simple and basic.

Guess I should have said that I would like to get one with a side focus as well as a mil-dot reticle as well. Being as I plan on using the rifle for some vermin control around some farms.

Re: CM-2 rifle

Tough to beat a Weaver V24 for versatility and "bang for the buck". There's a version with mildot, though my favorite is Varminter (cross with dot). For a .22 you definitely want the adjustable objective. Weaver Grand Slam is another option.

Re: CM-2 rifle

This company does make a multi shot paddle bolt rifle called the Ural. But this one is more like the 40x, just a single shot. I have been trying to find if anyone has ever made one into a mag fed rifle.

But with the single shot it forces you to be accurate

Midway has Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44mm on sale for $279 right now.

Update to add:

Bushnell 3200 10x40 Mil/Mil on sale for $199. Pretty cool low buck deal.

The only reason I bring up these is I've seen a weaver that had a terrible looking mil dot reticle. I don't know if they changed it or not but the Nikon is just as nice as my Mark 4.

Mine came with optional turret caps. You can turrets exposed or narrower turrets that have covers like your bsa...I prefer exposed turrets. I didn't expect this feature and was quite pleased.</div></div>
