CMMG MK3 barrel swap

I purchased a CMMG MK3 mod 1 with 18" SS barrel a while back. I have never fired it but figured when I bought it I would be swapping some parts. Seems they need an adj gas block. Was looking at swapping the barrel for a JP supermatch in 20" with matched BCG and adj gas block.

Will this be a direct swap?

Will I have to replace the hand guard or will the hand guard work with their gas block?

Better barrel for the money, easier swap?

Well not much help here...

Just in case someone pulls this up. Seems the CMMG is a DPMS platform and the JP barrel kit is a direct swap. This came directly from JPE.

Anyone have any idea if the swap from the CMMg barrel to the JP barrel is worth it? It will help due to the adj gas block but what about accuracy?

I am in the same boat as you. I have a CMMG MK3 CBR and just posted about my options as well. In my situation I hate to throw away a barrel that I haven't fully investigated. Once I know the barrel can't produce the accuracy the I want, I will for sure switch it out.

It seems like you have read everything I have JP seems to be one of the top choices pricey but you get what you pay for. Please report back when you decide what you're going to do.
