CMP M1 Garand project(s)

Greetings, Folks

Will be making a trip to CMP North store in late April with the intent of purchasing several M1 Garands for myself and family members. I am considering taking a rack grade rifle and changing the barrel to 25-06 and perhaps re-stocking to something like the Sage EBR chassis. I would also dearly love to find a way to convert to removable magazines. I currently have 2 primary bolt guns in 25-06 and 30-06 and have no interest in going to .308. Any advice or suggestions on what direction to take these builds would be appreciated.

Check with Losok Arms and Shuffsparkerizing.com they both do a magazine conversion.

Have not contacted LOSOK yet, but on Shuff's Parkerizing site the magazine conversion he describes is a .308 swap. Already have a BM59 in .308 so got that covered. LOSOK site doesn't say much, and most recent info posted there is from 2010. Valkyr looks interesting, but other posts made by Mr. Lammer to different forums put it out of my current price range. I will be building these as I can afford to get the parts. The most complete post that I have found regarding the LOSOK garand conversion can be seen here:

I will send an email to LOSOK and see what response I get.
Does anyone know if Shuff's Parkerizing (or anyone else) is doing a working magazine conversion that keeps the rifle in 30-06?
