No shit. Global Warming is an industry now, cuz “science”. The moment some dumbfuck invokes “science” as an argument ender/winner you can bet that whatever tripe they’re spinning is total bullshit. The physical world effects all people every day. To believe we need The Priests of the Temples of Syrinx to explain it to we illiterate peasants is fucking crazy. Most of the miseducated people on TV are of below average IQ. I know several slow people who’ve tried to make up for their lack of mental acumen with degrees. Pathetic.
The problem is multifaceted. Scientific quality has decreased for a number of reasons, has become politicized, is now available for hire (activism rather than inquiry), and it now requires more background knowledge for fair assessment of effects. And the worst thing of all is everyone is now seemingly dumber, on average, than ever (scientists and the general public).
I have been doing it for 35 years, and if I had a second chance I would not do it again. Far too hard, no one really cares, and most are incapable of understanding the context (failure of education; we don’t teach people to think critically anymore). Plus there are far better paying vocations that don’t require specialized knowledge.
So we end up with morons arguing with idiots using “scientific” results neither understands. So combine marginal advocacy science with bullshit statistics and voila... a feast for miscreants.
And the final flaw: governments are in a competitive race for technological dominance

Well said. I'll divert slightly to "global warming". AGW fails to meet any and all scientific methods. Every hypothesis which lead to doomsday scenarios, has been wrong. Not even some correct but, 100% failed. This is why AGW was morphed into "climate change". When the relabelling happened, the goalpost could be easily moved waaaaay over there. Now you can label every tornado or even a cold day in July as, OMG climate change!
I always encourage people to go back and watch inconvenient truth and see how that absolutely every single hypothesis has been completely wrong and the scientific method was never used. Also look up the original scientists that created the AGW hypothesis. You will find that every last one of them has come out and said they were wrong.

If we look at any of the ice core data sets (Volsok or Antartica), the simple facts that SHOULD be apparent to anyone are:
Species survival is a harsh game, and all we can do is take our time “at bat”. We could have a long time to figure it out, or we could catch a 36km/second fastball in the next week (we seem to get hit by a sizable bolide approximately ever 65 million years... and we are overdue). We just don’t know. But we have a chance...
So go shoot, enjoy looking at your spouse, play with your kids... and shun all “progressives” in the future

- Earth’s climate is constantly changing.
- The change is cyclical.
- All of modern human history occurs along the top of the current temperature plateau on the upper right side of the attached graph.
- The average temperature over the last ~425,000 years has been very cold (-55 degrees C average based on the Volstok ice core record).
- Enjoy the warmth while it last!!!
- This pattern is likely due to forces currently beyond human understanding or control.
- AOC and all the money on the planet will not likely generate useful information or understanding for many decades (I watched mankind go into space, so we really only have a few years of quantitative data on the output of our sun)!!
- Recent calls for panic or claims that “climate change” is the most important challenge to human survival is flat not true (we are more likely to receive a planetary strike that wipes out humanity before we all die of cold
). - So far, all species go extinct eventually. We are unlikely to successfully colonize off planet before we kill ourselves or natural calamity wipes us out. However, while we have the best opportunity thus far, I think humans are still too stupid to focus our efforts on what matters to ensure survival as a species.
- Finally, everyone should realize this is all alright. The earth will keep trying to create sentient intelligence long after we are gone.

Nothing is perfect, not even science. It advances in increments. There are still even some FLAT EARTHERS here on this forum! 
You can make any statistic mean just about anything. The amount of marsh gas has never been talked about. They say there's thousands of tons of methane gas being released from these swamps every day.
