I have a M107 in for a total FDE cerakote job. Have the whole gun apart and ran into an issue on the barrel I was hoping for somebody with experience with these rifles. There is a poly buffer ring butted up to the barrel extension that can only be removed after removal of the extension. This leaves me with two options.
1. Will this plastic piece hold up to 250°F?
2. How difficult would this extension be to remove? I have it locked down in the barrel Vise right now, but don't have a wrench large enough to grab the flats on the extension. Would a large enough Crescent wrench do the job or is a special tool required?
