i just ordered a mcmillan stock and aftermarket steel BDL bottom metal. the metal is in the white. what is the consensus on the best coating for these type of parts? i dont mind building or buying things as long as they are not too extravagant. what do i need to do the job myself? is there someone here who could coat the BDL type bottom metal for a reasonable cost? thanks.

Re: coating bottom metal

Given my lack of skill with mixing and spraying, and my desire for an easy to apply and speedy cure, I am very happy with this:

You can have a fully finished and fully cured part in about 2 hours with no skill and about 10 minutes labor. Never had a single run, always an even finish.
I like to prep by blasting the part with Aluminum-oxide.
It has never flaked off and only worn on my bolt after alot of use.
My muzzles are still perfectly coated after thousands of rounds.
