Looking at the Cobalt Kinetics Pro TX Edition 13.7" in 223 Wylde. Rosco SS barrel, G2S trigger. Intrigued by the upper design and buffer system. Thoughts / suggestions?

Purpose - mostly for 300 and in, but out to 500-600 occasionally. I have bolt guns for longer range, so looking for short and light. Probably go with the Primary Arms PLx 1-8 on top.

Otherwise, looked at LMT, Noveske, JP, V Seven, and customs using their parts...

Yeah, I'm very pleased with the Rosco barrel I own but I couldn't bring myself to buy a $2500 rifle knowing it had a $140 barrel.

So is the vltor buffer system story BS? Or is it just overpriced for the sum of its parts?

You can build a lot of AR15 for $2500, and that includes a top of the line barrel.

That said, I have a roscoe that needs some attention too.

No way in hell I'd drop $2500 on that. For that kind of money, LMT and JP all day long.

If you didn't want to build and stay around $1.2-1.5K; S&W Volunteer XV, Bad Workhorse, Seekins NX15, PWS MK116.

Cobalt built this for me.
Really liked the look of their receivers, sent in the parts I wanted, they built it out.
This rifle feels excellent.
Barrel is a Craddock precision bartlein 13.9” in .223 wylde
