Re: cobra

Jeez, what a stinker. But it does have one redeeming feature.

Every once in great a while, you see a detail featured in a movie that's so obscure, it leaves you wondering, "What the hell was the point of that?" Like Apocalypse Now had all these circular references to the poetry of T.S. Eliot. Yeah, you thought it was just a war movie, didn't you? Who the hell goes to a war movie expecting to hear a T.S. Eliot recitation?

Cobra has one of those quirkies. So Sly blows away everybody in the grocery store, comes home, pulls his cleaning kit out of an egg carton, drops the magazine, and what to my wondering eye should appear? A Glaser Safety Slug.

That movie must have been seen by dozens of people. At least. There couldn't have been more than three or four of them -- including me -- who'd have noticed the Glasers, much less cared.
