Coldbore Mobile Phone Compatibility

I'm considering following Franks example using a non contract Windows phone for using Coldbore but according to their website CB works with Windows Mobile 5.X and 6.X however all the phones I can locate are using 7.X. Can anybody verify CB works on the 7.X versions of Windows Mobile?

You want an 8 to 10 phone, those other versions are for the PDA
