Okay call me a stupid COD player or whatever but I wish someone would make a stock for a M700 or Savage like the one used on a M2000 Intervention that took AI mags. If someone does please let me know I would like one for my next build

Re: Collapsible rifle stock

You could buy a XLR Industries Evolution or Mcree stock with the ar15 stock adapter and add a Nordic Components retractable ar15 stock.

Nordic stock - stock

ETA- Just tore apart two rifles to see if it would work. The stock does fit but it would be very tight on a XLR EVO HD Chassis (it will rub), I dont know if Kyles normal chassis is slimmer or not? Also the below picture shows the highest point where when the stock is collapsed the bars would slide under the bolt knob. You would have some serious cheek weld issues with this set up as is.

You would have to have basicly a adapter for the Nemesis arms stock so you can run the adjustable stock. There stock would also have to be wider in the bar area to allow for the wider chassis's.

Re: Collapsible rifle stock

Thanks....that got me thinking....I know someone that could probably fab me up the collapsible stock to fit the XLR chassis.

I've never really liked folding stocks...seems to me that it would be faster to extend a stock than to fold it but that's just me...

It takes all of about 0.1 second to unfold/open my AICS lol. maybe youre more cramped on time than me, but thats fast enough in my book ;D

Re: Collapsible rifle stock

Use a biathalon sling with your AICS 2.0 folder and i think it will be most comfy.

The benefits to the solid lockup of the AI far outweight any perceived advantage of what you are looking at.

This is a PRECISION RIFLE, not a subgun. If your stock was collapsed when you need a weapon NOW you done screwed up already and better pull your pistol.

I have not been to any competition that requires a folding stock to start collapsed and the only time my AI is folded is when it's across my back. However opening the AI chassis is as fast as anything could be. You grab and pull. There are no latches, switches etc. As I mentioned before, when it locks up, it's solid.

I admit it looks cool, but I leave cool for the video games. If it don't help me put lead on target, then I don't really want it on my rifle.

I know you're right but I don't do comps and for a majority of my guns I want functionality and alittle cool factor(have you seen my XP-100R). So I see no reason why a sage ebr or a m2000 style stock wouldn't serve me purposes if one was made for a M700 LA.

Re: Collapsible rifle stock

But are you willing to loose functionality for "cool"?

If you want function and cool, just buy a Mini-Windrunner. If you try to do this on a budget I think you are going to fall well short of "cool".

Then again, I am old and haven't been cool for more than a decade (if ever).

Re: Collapsible rifle stock

I definitely don't want to loose functionality for the cool factor but I don't see why if they use them on something like the .408 Cheytac it wouldn't work for a M700. I just like something different. I don't want to have my gun sitting next to another and it look the same.
