They want to tax it more. Seriously, it's already taxed at a higher rate than any other taxable item in Colorado, including alcohol. Now some fucking idiot politician sees it as an easy target for more taxes to get money for her fucking pet project. They promised more money to education when they legalized it. That money came but other money that wasn't ever "promised", left. That's how they fuck you with these "more money for schools" promises when they want to legalize something like weed or gambling. They promise money for schools but neglect to tell you they'll pull money already earmarked but not "promised" for education. It's a net zero feel good promise to get more money for themselves.
