Hello all
Need some advices about Colt's I want to buy a new pistol and saw two Colt MK-IV in almost new condition one is 70 series and the other is 80 series I don't know nothing about those pistols and would appreciate it if you could shad some light about the differences and which one is better?

Thanks

Re: COLT MK-IV

series 70 = no firing pin safety
series 80 = firing pin sfaety

how this relates to you =
Colt's firing pin safety is directly linked to the trigger mechanism. Thus when you pull the trigger you are also exerting force to act upon ths mech..... leading to a not so crisp trigger.

This is one of the reasons why 70 series are souht after and he main diffrence between the 2

Re: COLT MK-IV

"leading not to a crisp trigger" Bullshit!
Series 80 triggers can be and are tuned to near perfection.
But yes, series 70's do have fewer parts associated with the trigger mechanism.

So how is it bull shit? Series 80 needs to be tuned and in some cases the safety bypassed because of the extra parts to result in a pull as clean as a 70. Either way trigger perception is an individual thing.
