Combat tavor setup 16 vs 18 to be used with can surefire socom or mini

Ok I'll take a stab at tis. Go wif 16" barel and TBAC can. Or n OSS for bak presure
😉 joking aside I've always ran the 16" on my Tavor with an old M4-2000 can. Like Zak said, long is long, short is short

I'd go 16" with OSS or whatever they can themselves these days. A vented Helios or sandman K + ebrake would also make good choices. I love tbac but unless there's an easy way to tune that host (and maybe there is, haven't checked in a few years), stick with ultra low back pressure to make life easy.

A heavier recoil spring seems to help if your rifle is running too fast and overspeeding the mag. My tavor hated wearing my old surefire mini... would jam a lot running full power 5.56 level stuff, like 1 out of 4. I was pretty bummed, but a spring swap seems to have it running well. Same loads, probably 500 rounds through it so far and no hiccups.

Probbaly not ideal, and i havent shot enough yet, but it went from cant even use at the range to very fun at the range.

If i had a low backpressure can id definitely go that route, and tinker with the spring only if necessary. That gun would be much improved if we could wizard some adjustable gas in there.

All that said... yay for low backpressure

Will be for a 556 wich barrel and wich suppressor flah signature is everything but if i can save length with out more flash in can or barrel will do so .
What kind of combat are you expecting in Maryland?

Go 16". Will get you as much as you need out of 5.56 and keep the tavor short with a can on it, and short is the whole point of the tavor. Grab an oss (now huxwrx) can for low back pressure.

Do tell. It seems to have a place in urban environments and cqc. Wouldn't be my choice if most engagements were 300+ yards.
Anyone that has experience running a rifle will tell you that bullpups suck. I have one of the first Tavors that came into the US, was on a waiting list for almost 5 years. Its a cool gun but it sucks in a lot of ways.

1. Not accurate at all, like 3-4MOA at best, which is fine for a short range blaster but past 100M it gets hard to make hits. Shit trigger exacerbates this issue, so see next.
2. Worst trigger in all of gundom. And its not even close. The X95 fixes this a bit but its still terrible. I have owned Staple guns with better triggers.
3. The rail height sucks. Its way to low and you end up needing a crazy high rizer. The backup/iron sights make you smash your face into the stock.
4. Mag release sucks.
5. Did I mention its a bullpup and they suck? Mag changes are slow and clunky, even if you train them. On paper they look great but functionally and practically, they suck. The Aug is a better rifle and its 50 years older.

If you want a fun range toy with interesting history, why not. As far as a SHTF or defense gun, there are MUCH better choices, such as the AR. Note everyone with a big dick in the Izzy military is running a M4 variant, the tavors are for peasant conscripts.

Now if you want to talk about Izzy arms that are impressive, the Namer and Negev are where its at.

I run mine with a shitty basic can, a bead of silicone sealant at the back and a Gearhead port cover, gas is minimal. Go with a 16" barrel and any decent can and you'll be just fine.
Replaced the trigger pack with a Super Sabre, which improved it rather a lot.
It's a very well balanced, pleasant gun to shoot. For an around the house gun where you might want your left hand free to say, open doors whilst comfortably maintaining a cheek weld and sightline it's very comfortable, as is shooting it one handed.
Zero problems with rail height and the mag and bolt release are very easy to use, but then I'd barely qualify as peasant conscript.....

The only real benefit to a bullpup is being able to get a longer barrel in a smaller OAL package. This is to help with fragmentation based on velocity with M193 & M855 at range.

There is no benefit to having a higher velocity/longer frag range in a CQB gun.

A 10-12 Inch AR is superior in every way, which is why the isreali, austrailian, british, french door kickers and every other country that uses a bullpup as a general service rifle, use an AR for their competent forces.

The irony of that picture is throwing a bunch of chinese garbage optics on what someone claims is a great rifle. LOL.

Blah blah blah, like usual.

Fortunately, I'm not at the speary door kicking tip of my neighborhood watch, so my CQB needs revolve mostly around my house and between dogs, alarms and assorted weaponry, I'm pretty comfortable I've got that covered.
The rest of the time, I'm quite happy enjoying the variety and range of guns available. Even the piston ones.
The irony of your comment is your not knowing that's an American optic on the Tavor....
And a German one on the XCR
And a Japanese one and a Korean one on the floor next to the MSR.
And the Sig and Holosun are performing just fine.

Oh, and I do have a 10-12" AR. It shoots just the same as the Tavor. ...I'm sure you'll tell me, and everyone else who needs to know, how it's the wrong one....

But, I'm sure your next reply will be like all your others.
So yeah. Cool.

It was meant to be a universal where with a can i wouldn't have a shit tone of gun in a indoor case

And if it doesn't work out will jus stick with my scar 16s with a surefire rc2 n maybe swap optics

And the x95 is more ergonomic than a ar
