I'm saving up for my first 1911. Slated for Winter/Spring 2011.

Ditto! Thinking a lightweight Springfield operator for my first and 2011 sounds like the perfect time to get one. Yay tax returns!!!

While I don't really NEEEED another 1911, I am curious to see what the various mfgs decide to do in terms of their offerings for "100th Anniversary Edition" pistols. I am betting dollars to donuts that there will be a sh!tload of different ones from everyone from Colt to Kimber to SA to...well, you get the idea.

i'm thinking about building a pair off of a wilson combat frame and slide combo. One for me and one for my brother. We do have to do something to honor Mr. Browning on this day.
