New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Hi all. When disassembling my Remington 798 bolt yesterday, I somehow managed to get the bolt stuck in the fired position. Am I doomed? It is super tight. I cannot get any play on this. Does anyone know what needs to be done?
IIRC, You will to have to pull back on the firing pin to get the shroud to unscrew.
You may be able to get a small pair of vise grips clamped on it for a handle to pull back with.
I think there might be some useful material for you in the IDF Mauser SP 66 thread here in Vintage. Drove me Squirrley a couple of summers ago when I was trying to fix a safety. So I wrote it up here.
Yes, I got it sorted out. I had to take it in because i didn't have the tools. I didnt realize how strong the spring is in there. I tried pulling it up, but didnt have a vise to grip it.
