Rifle Scopes comparible scopes to Mark 4 in price and quality

Im not trying to start another debate between people who like and hate luepold...I saw alot of people saying theres alot better scopes then luepold for the price. I was looking to pick up a Mark 4 4.5-14x50mm LR/T M1 Illum. Reticle. i heard that the illum recticals arent so good from luepold. i would just like to know who makes a 4.5-14x50 scopes that are comparible to luepold. I was planning on spending about $1400 for the scope...not including rings...Any info would be appreciated about comparable scopes or that ecact scope itself.

I have 4 Nightforce 5 x 22-50 Scopes. and 4 Schmidt and bender 5x25-56 scopes. The Night force are excellent and have some features that I like better than the S&M. The Clicks are more positive and the reticle is better for ranging because they have 1 MOA (1 inch) instead of 1 Mil Dot (3.6 inches)

Get them with the NPR-1 Reticle and the MOA Turrets with quarter clicks and get the Zero Stop option for the elevation turret.

I really like the Valdadas, and feel that they have better glass than the Leupold Mark 4's, but some here feel pretty strongly against Valdada. I will say that if you buy one, get it from Libertyoptics.com. He has a very good track record of keeping his customers happy. IIRC Valdada has a 4-14 model with MP8 reticle for 1150.

Other than that, I have seen used nightforce scopes go for that price as well. Don't discount the used market for either leupold or nightforce as both companies make a good product and will honor the warranty.

edit: I might know a guy who has a 5-22X nightforce with zerostop for sale, I think he wants 1400 for it which I thought was a good price. If you are interested PM me and I'll see if I can find some contact info for him.
