I am having a .308 rifle built, and need some help setting up the chamber. I will primarily be shooting 178gr AMAX's through the rifle, but will also occasionally shoot 168-175gr SMKs through the gun. What I would like to do is set up the thoat where I can easily reach the lands with either bullet, and still keep the OAL short enough to work in a standard rifle magazine. Most of my loads are 2.805-2.830" OAL, so any suggestions on where to set up the throat?

Well, in a Rem throat, the MKs will be just kissing the lands at 2.940", maybe set the lands so when you seat the bullets to 2.830 the lands are .010-.015" away.
