I was wondering why we don't see more coned bolt faces. I have played with sako, tikka, and a rem with coned bolt face and they seem to feed noticably smoother. why is it that we don't see more of these?

    thanks scott

I would think (for a factory rifle) that its not worth re-tooling.

For a magazine fed custom, still may not be worth it.

For a single shot BR gun with light neck tension, thats probably where the greatest benefit would be found.

    Scott,
I actually have a prototype Model 911 action with a 30* coned bolt. I haven't finished the build yet, but I've worked a bit with the feeding and it feeds extremely well from an AICS mag. It is dual extract, mechanical eject.

Can't wait to see the specs on this!
