Confirmation of MCX non-options

I read a thread from last year that was really informative, but would like to see if the situation is about the same for an MCX 5.56 just purchased, model ends in TAP.
I had wanted a weapon that would allow a 300BLK barrel to be installed, but guess I didn’t do my research, seems the Virtus would have been the route to go. I realize this is old news, but I need to know if I have any options on barrel change; I’ve checked several of the sources given in the post I read, and it seems everyone is out, discontinued, whatever.

I believe the models that end with TAP are the current gen guns...if it's black and doesn't say virtus on it then it's quite possibly a law enforcement gun and is still technically a virtus. Pretty sure the TAP means it has the newer, tapered bolt which would allow you to put in a 300blk barrel if you could actually find one.

Thanks for the reply. It definitely does not say Virtus, and it’s definitely a black pistol with a folding stock, model #PMCX-5B-TAP.
if I can find one seems to be the real problem, as I’ve checked sources in the original thread (inleadwetrust, and several others). I’ll just be persistent, as hopefully, someone will have one available eventually.
if I’m not mistaken, the BCG has to be changed also, but just learning about the specifics of this weapon, so possibly not.

sure thing, man. Sounds like you had basically the same gun that I had initially. It doesn't require a new BCG, it's just a simple barrel swap. Good luck finding on though, I bought mine wayy back before they become unobtainable.

PMCX-5B-TAP is a Rattler. You need a Rattler barrel. Virtus barrels are different. All are unobtainium.
