First let mention that I want to reload for my Remington 700 308 Tactical with the 20" bull barrel with the 1/10 twist. I have the following for reloading: Lake City LR brass, IMR4064 powder, Nosler 165gr Partition Spitzer bullet and CCI 200 large rifle primers.

Source of load data: One Book/One Caliber Lee Loader chart On-line at IMR On-line at Nosler
40.5-44.5* 41.6-46.3 42.0-46.3 40.5-44.5*

Both One Book/One Caliber and Nosler have an * after their Max load listing indicating that this was the most accurate load but also a compressed load 101% capacity. Can anyone tell me if they know which is correct and IF the two Max loadings of 44.5 would cause pressure problems. Thanks

Here is my data:
HS Precision HTR 24"
Lapua Brass
Federal 210m primer
Lapua 155gr Scenar
IMR4064 44.5gr
Velocity 2866fps

I have no pressure signs with this combination. However it would prudent to start lower and incrementally work up. Stopping if you see any signs of excess pressure.

They are ALL exactly correct for the test rifles, and exact mix of other components (brass, primers, bullet, and powder lot number) the loading manual company used to test their loads.
This is exactly why you have to "WORK UP" a load, and not just jump right to the max...
I would start at 42 or 42.5, based on the starting loads you listed (two grains below the lowest maximum figure), and test loads every .3 grain until you start getting pressure signs, then back up one.
That might be 44.5 grains, it might be 46.3 grains, or if you have a long throat, long freebore, and slightly loose bore, it might be higher!
If you have a tight bore, a short throat, thick brass, and no freebore, you might hit maximum lower than their numbers... but still get good velocities.
