Current setup is a .308, 24" Remmy SPS with YHM can. Barrel contour is a bit light (#4ish) and I wouldn't mind having a shorter barrel. I'm all set up with match grade dies, etc etc for .308, so I am kinda shy about changing cartridge.
Option 1: leave it as is.
Option 2: rebarrel to a 18" 1:10 twist schilling or kreiger bull barrel. Would get the action trued out while I'm at it.
Option 3: rebarrel to a 18" or 20" 5r. Would get the action trued out while I'm at it.
Option 4: rebarrel to a different cartridge/caliber
Option 5: you tell me
I usually stay under 800 yrds, but occasionally venture out beyond. Accuracy isn't much a problem (if I do my part) but recoil control on that light barrel isn't the greatest, and the 24" barrel with the can is a bit obtuse.
Open to all and any opinions! thanks in advance!
