I have a molded in camo McMillan that I would like to open up for DBM.
Those that have done it, what cutter speed did you find minimized chipping?
Did the flute count matter?

thanks in advance,
Andy

I used a 3/8 4 Flute Carbide End mill with an extended shank and ran it about 1000rpms (could go faster), worked fine. Just don't run your feed too fast.

My 2 cents

Just be aware the fiberglass will wear your High Speed endmills down really quick.

I usually use a 3/8" carbine for the action area; up to 7/8" if I'm opening up the magazine well.
