Is it possible to remove the upper right hand safety and make it an upper left hand safety. I have a side bolt release so don't need one.

You can buy a new safety from Midway or Brownells that's LH. Then flip the pin, countersink a hole and reinstall everything...
You will likely need to completely disassemble the entire trigger and side plates, make the small changes and reassemble everything. The easy thing is to buy a lefty trigger and sell the RH one.

You'll also have to notch the tang of the action for the LH safety.

Eaisest thing to do is get a bottom safety Jewell w/o bolt release and keep on going. No holes just install and shoot.
