I have a Rem 700 PSS bedded into a McMillan target stock with adj cheek piece and LOP. I am interested in adding a detachable box magazine. In pricing out options, I think I will spend $300 to $500 installed depending on bottom metal chosen.

Another option is to buy a stock like the KRG Bravo or McMillan MC3 to convert to a DBM for a similar cost.

Has anybody else gone through this decision and which did you choose and why?

Go with new bottom metal.
The McMillan stock is too nice and has enough adjustment to make it fit you to abandon.
If you were looking at spending the coin for an MPA or an X-ray, I'd give it more consideration, but in the price range you're looking at, call McMillan and see what their recommendations are for a DBM. They do this stuff for a living, they will get you squared away the first time.

What’s the intended use for the rifle?

I have been using this rifle for range use but recently have been interested in trying a PRS match. That’s why I am interested in adding a DBM now.
