I am going to have some work done on my rifle and would like to get all the parts ordered from midwayusa soon as I can. My action is a target large shank short action. Its RIGHT hand, LEFT port/ejection. I would say that I need the left handed bolt face for this?
So basically I need (left hand WSM bolt face):

What about the extractor stuff? It says I need a CRF part from savage, but I cant find any. Also being it isnt listed, I would guess the standered firing pin works?

If your Savage isn't a CRF (which it probably isn't) then you can't really use that bolthead since you need a standing ejector that is built into the receiver. Unfortunately, neither Midway nor Brownells have the correct bolthead in stock (left hand magnum PRF for 10/11/12/16). You're probably going to have to contact Savage to try to get one.

So the Long action bolt head will work on a short action bolt?

I don't think they are.

These are 223 bolt heads, but the fact is the same. Short action bolt head on the left, long action on the right.

The short action has a shorter tail.

If you tried to use a long action bolt head in a short action bolt, the tail would stop the firing pin before it protrudes.
