I've been struggling to find a load that my .300 win model 92 likes. I've been using 215 bergers and 212 eld-x bullets with H1000 powder. I've shot a bunch of groups with different powder charges and seating depths without any great results. Twice now I thought I found a good load and shot groups that are touching - .300" center to center of three shots. I run back home, happy as a clam, and load up 7 more bullets exactly the same to verify the load and then they shoot a 3" group when I return to the range to confirm the load. Blows my mind. I am waiting 5 minutes between shots and it has been between 20 and 40 degrees outside during my range time.

Anybody have a pet load that I could test out (with caution)?

Ok, not implying, is there any chance this is you? You finally strike gold, then leave and come back with high hopes and not duplicate the form used originally. With only 7 rds, once you start biffing groups, you probably shot 4 forcing it to work, then flustered enough that the last 3 aren't going to do shit for you.
I have a friend that loads 3 test rds of varying things, seat depth blah blah, biff one shot you could walk away from the load of a lifetime.

I guess it certainly could be me. I am shooting prone with a bipod and rear bag. I feel rock solid and have an awesome trigger on the gun (bix'n andy).

I really would have a hard time believing that I can shoot a .3" group one minute and then suck bad enough the next to shoot a 3" group! Could I be wrong??

3" group! Could I be wrong??
I had to ask, you are the one shooting. I had a similar issue on a REM 788 22-250. Moments of glory, followed by bottom of the cesspool.
My charge weight was good, so I loaded an ass ton seated long, took my coax to the range and messed with seat depth, when it all over, right back to where I was with a good load the first time, and the load held.
But yeah, 3" is a lot.
Post a pic of the group, is it vertical, horizontal, it tells a story.

Do this first, either verify the action screws are tight, or better yet, loosen, reset, torque correctly. If a fiberglass stock, 60 front, 45 back. If it is a wood stock, contact cooper and get specs.

Berger 215 - Sighting in after scope change: (high shot was first shot, right shot is me turning the scope the wrong way like a goof):

Berger 215 Load Validation - Says post cleaning, this was after I cleaned the rifle because I could not get it to reproduce the above group. I shot 5 foulers after cleaning and before trying this group.

ELD-X Testing - top right is 75 grains with a decent group (middle is 71 grains, top left is 73 grains, bottom left is 77 grains). All bullets are jammed.

ELD-X validation - same exact load as above

First, is the barrel free floated, does it feel like when the barrel gets warm, it can get into the stock? I went to Cooper's site, could not find 92, finally googled the 92. Pencil thin hunting barrel, not sure of your use, but 2 shoot groups may be in order, a few of them, looking for size, but also POI related to aiming point.
The ELDX load of 75gr, does not look bad, try .4gr below, come up another .2gr, 75 itself, then .2 & .4 above.
Your Berger load on white printer paper looks good too, I still want to point a finger at you.
If you have a rifle known to shoot, try this, go prone, fire one shot, get up, walk a few steps, back down and fire again same POA, do it again and again, see what happens.
On loads, I am lost on 300 win, have never had, never wanted, or never will.
