Copenhagen

Re: Copenhagen

I used to, until gum disease set in. Started dipping/chewing at 13 years old. Over $5k in periodontal treatments so far and I'm not done. I am 39 and have the gums and bone loss of a 65 year old.

Re: Copenhagen

I just quit in October after 20 years. Went to the dentist for the first time in my life yesterday. No cavitys no gum problems. They said they couldn't tell I ever chewed. Was up to a can and a half a day when I quit. The shits too expensive anymore!

Re: Copenhagen

Copenhagen long cut, or snuff if I can't find long cut within three convenience store stops. I need to quit though. Was smoking a pack a day along with a can and a half a day, but was able to quit the cigs when the wife got pregnant. Quitting cigs was easy; Copenhagen, not so much...

Re: Copenhagen

Thats because dipping snuff is like main lining. And 1 chew=6 cigarettes worth of nicotine. I miss the hell out of it but I wont dare start again as I have a 2 yr old son.<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: WRMorrison</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Copenhagen long cut, or snuff if I can't find long cut within three convenience store stops. Re: Copenhagen

FO's comment reminded me of Willie Nelson's cameo in Half Baked:

"I remember when a dime bag cost a dime"

"You know how much condoms cost back then? ... I dunno, we never used em"

Yeah, when my dad started, Copenhagen was .50cents a can..lucky sombitch..

At the disct. Tobacco/liquor store where my farm is, i can get it for about $2.68 a can, which is dirt stinkin cheap!

In Rockwall right now, Copenhagen is something crazy like $5.05 a can! And Redman/Beech-Nut is like $8.88 a pouch!

At my store:) i get a pouch for about $5.35:)
Or, I can get the 1 POUND BAG of stokers peach, apple, moonshine, or natural for $19.88:)

If i didnt have that store, my family would be..would be...i dont even know, so pissed its not even funny!

Hahaha!!! 5.05 a can? Up here in The Peoples Republic of Wisconsin i pay 6.48 a can. We have some of the highest tobacco taxes in the country.

TIME TO MOVE DUDE!

Re: Copenhagen

I've been dippin Kodiak since 1993. I started dippin to quit smoking which was probably the dumbest thing I've ever done. The shit is like heroin only more expensive. I've quit twice for close to a year each time but otherwise it's a can a day at almost $5 a pop.

One of a very, very few things I've done or am doing that I'm ashamed of. It's embarrassing to me that I allow something to have as much control over me as it does.

Suck ass.

Re: Copenhagen

Copenhagen Snuff for me. I use to chew skoal straight but I ran out when I was downrange a couple of years ago. All i could get my hands on was Copenhagen snuff. My teammate hooked me up with a couple of cans and from that point on that's the only brand I chew.

Re: Copenhagen

grizzly staright for me. about a can or so a day. been chewing for years. wish i could stop but every time i try, something triggers a craving and im back at it. i leave for boot camp in 3 days and hopefully those 13 weeks will get it out of my head!!

Re: Copenhagen

On my first tour at Lejeune, Cope was 72 cents in the MCX. One day, inexplicably, it jumped to 78 cents. The bad news spread through the battalions, especially the STA platoons, very quickly. This was about the same time we followed around one of those box-like new experimental jeeps and laughed ourselves silly when we heard they were going to call it a hummer.

There was only Cope Snuff, not tangerine mystery flavor or whackle-doodle doo in small bags. When I ask for a can of Cope and the cash register technician asks me what kind, I want to answer rudely, perhaps pull out a quarter, flip it and ask them to call it...

I save the lids too. I donate them to Americans that use them for the Jingle Dress Dance at Pow Wows.

Re: Copenhagen

Cope snuff...it does satisfy...but it's getting to damned expensive ($6.50+ in WA)! Is that wintergreen Cope anything like Kodiac? That shit is rancid along with any other wintergreen I've tried, but I was kind of curious about the Cope wintergreen.

On a similar note this post just made me have a flash back. So there I am no shit true story overseas fresh out of Snuff digging a gunner E in the A-Stan desert. So this engineer rolls up and starts digging pits, which beat the shit out of e-tools in 100* heat, he finishes up on my fighting position and says "you know what time it is?" so my buddy looks at his watch and says whatever time it was, and the engineer pulls out a can...a real can too not that overseas shit...and says "it's Copenhagen time" so there I (and damn near every other grunt within ear shot) was about to tear him off his SEE when my platoon Sgt. walks up and tries to talk him into a little rub...engineer guy says something about only having a couple logs and not being able to share...long story short no Cope from that douche, but U.S. Smokeless Tobacco sent us a care package within the week. Should have quit while I was ahead, but it sure is easier to stay on top of shit working long hours with a refreshing lip full of worm dirt.

Agreed sir!!! I had actually quit for a few months and then they came out with pouches. I just had to try them and I was hooked again instantly. Now I'm back with the long cut.
