this is a hard call. Technically he didnt follow procedure, but as long as he paid for the guys food I cant see doing anything but giving him a pat on the back is in order. Good work, officer.

So, Andy Griffith does the decent thing and takes a hit.
I'm guessing Walmart might make it even with this shortfall.
^^^ The above isn't meant to justify shoplifting, each case has it's own facts.

Another reason walmart can go fuck its self....

now i think people who steal are the lowest of the low.......but theres a difference between stealing a little bit of food so you dont starve....and stealing a flat screen tv....

Honestly no one is going to benefit from arresting this guy....pokice resources are gonna be wasted....courts are gonna be clogged.....tax dollars wasted defending him......and what is the end result? The guy is going to end up worse off and likely have to resort to more theft to keep afloat.

at the end of the day....walmart has their money.....the guy had food....and no one was hurt......so whats tge problem?

You make many excellent points, unfortunately in todays world you over look an important group who is harmed by this officers actions. The Judges, Attorneys, Clerks, bailiffs, Prison guards and others who hold the perp and process his paperwork as he goes through the system: those people all need jobs! No doubt this Officer took the bread out of their mouths. The procedures are in place to protect vested interested interests, as they continue to fleece the taxpayer.

As a taxpayers you and I applaud the simple decency of what the officer did. The establishment needs to punish him so that what he is doing does not become commonplace. Once I heard someone ask a judge why he let someone off the hook, the judges answer "I will be seeing him again soon enough." By keeping criminals on the streets they keep themselves and their cronies employed.
