COTI menu item in the SkeetIR-L?

I see that there is a COTI adaptor available for the SkeetIR-L. Trying to figure out if you have to have a COTI option in the menu or if the adaptor will work natively on all units regardless. The SkeetIR-L I am working with does not have a menu option for COTI.
