Gunsmithing Covering up engraving on barrel

Like a dumb ass I took one of my rifles to a local engraver to have him mark the caliber on my barrel. He messed it up pretty good.

Does anybody know someone who could fill in the engraving and properly remark the barrel? Once it is fixed I can get the cerakote touched up.

Depending on how deep/hard the schmucks got into the metal, you might could gritblast it away.

I've ever done similar, and was successful using very abrasive media to start, then finer grit, then bead.

If blasting doesn't work, take the barrel off, chuck it up in a lathe and draw-file it off.

Dropped it of at the smith and he said he could make it go away. Lesson learned.
