So, I just sent my Barrett 99 in for service. I had some rusting issue at the beginning of the chamber. No matter what I tried, I could not get it to stop.

My guns are kept in the same temp controlled room and I do not have any problems with any of my other guns.

So the story goes, I bought it used. Went out and shot 60-70 rounds out of it last year. No problems. Went out 2 weeks ago and fired off 4 rounds total. The bolt was sticking like you would not believe. I started looking for the problem and found a lot of rust at the breech. I started working on it for the next 4 days trying to get the rust out of the breach and could not. I decided it was not worth the risk, and thought it was probably going to be an expensive fix. So I sent it out to Barrett.

I received an email from them today. Short story, they found a crack in my receiver. Super expensive fix right should be no warranty as I am the second owner. NOPE!!!!!!!!!! These guys are fixing it free. THis is crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Their customer service is awesome. Well its time to buy a 107 now.

I would think any reputable company would replace a cracked receiver for liability if nothing else.
I had a factory rifle where flames started appearing between the receiver and the barrel nut. When I called the company they told me it was an issue with user abuse, so I was on my own to fix it despite the potential danger.

I had a friend who had one with the AcuTrigger.
He had a trigger flinch. He could pull the trigger and jump off it so it would fire the trigger but not the rifle. I had no problem with it but found it very odd. Even though it was operator error, not something I would want to depend on.
