Curious to get some Tribal experience, Primers for N568 vs N570

Curious to hear what people have seen, Whats the better primer with the above 2 powders in a 300PRC, at approx 77-78gr
which primer between CCI250 and Federal Large Rifle Magnum Primers / 215

ye, realise it's load development, and it's as long as a peach of string, but there is also tribal knowledge, whats has been seen, a powder/primer combination thats known to work, vs a primer/powder that simply don't like each other

I use CCI 250 almost exclusively on my 338LM, 300NM and 300WM and load work up with N570 right at 5SD, 10-11ES and have a friend that uses the 215s on his 300WM and 300PRC and get about the same results with N570. You would be fine with either.

know this is something that we preferably don't want to do, have you played with swapping 215 out for 250 and seen the impact on your load. assuming everything stays the same.

You won’t find that much difference, and certainly not one that points to which your rifles load combination might prefer without testing, if it results in a preference. They are effectively equivalent.

Exactly that - the 215m is a harder cup than the 250.

You don't need to try both pick one and roll with it it will not impact your load but I prefer the 215m for large magnum (I like the cci450 for small)

I have used a lot of CCI 250s over the years, and am currently using the GM 215Ms with a 7-300 PRC (79.0gr N568).

I'd run whatever I could get enough of to last the life of a barrel and not look back.

when you have the anytime/always available of both then the above questions mean nothing, when just finding a primer for Magnum rifles is a issue then knowing the difference and which performance are closer becomes a fact of live.

Here is a tip, don't buy primers in 1k lots. Buy in 5k or a case at a time. 250 is usually more readily available. But in general, playing around with different primers have not resulted in much of a difference in the loads.

first world options, we lucky if we can get 200-300 at a time, of any primer.
I have a brick of CCI250, my shooting partner, similar.
for our 6.5CM. we simply can't find CCI450's. I mean not even 1 x 100, for months...

Oh, you’re in South Africa.
Get whatever you can get a bunch of, doesn’t sound like you can afford to get picky in what you get with no supply.
