I finally got tired of reaching over the scope to work the bolt. I'm left handed by the way. So I just got in a new Remington SS LH 700 action for my 6.5x284. I can't go all out on a gunsmiths salary so I ordered a Boyds what they call At-one stock, a Hawk Hill Custom 6.5 SS barrel, Magpul trigger guard and magazine, Sonny Hill maximized recoil lug, and a Athlon 24X50 Argos btr scope. This is my starter kit.

I threaded and chambered the barrel today and will finish up a Rem/Age SS barrel nut tomorrow. Why Rem/Age? If all goes well and I shoot so much the throat burs out, I'll have thread left to turn the barrel back a turn. When you do that on a shouldered thread there is all that thread lost and possibly lost accuracy. Besides, I like Savages' idea. ....... More to come.

Are you inletting the stock for the magpul bottom metal ? I've been after them to start shipping stocks that accept that mag system. Sounds like your going to be sanding the barrel channel also .
Make sure and post your progress

I opened up a few this last week it's a pain in the rear . They don't offer any left hand stocks / right hand stocks with BDL inlet and sendro barrel channel.
They plan to offer the right BDL with sendro soon I hear .
