Ok after much lusting I have decided to get a 260 rifle. It will be a +800 gun and I am thinking +24in barrel in 1/8 to shoot the heavier pills, thinking Krieger. I would like this to be a .5 MOA gun. Also I would like a more ergonomic stock like the McMillan A4 or A5. Does anyone know if getting all this for a little over the $2k is doable? Can anyone point me to a smith? Also i would like for the smith to gve an accuray guarantee. 2k is about my limit for a bolt gun, because if I get close to $3k I will just do a GAP10 in 260. I want a bolt but if I get in that price range may as well do a semi. Last does anyone know a smith who gives military discounts, I hear GA percision does, are there others. Feel free to let me know if I maybe reaching to far trying to get a .5 MOA in 260 for $2k

McMillan A5. $650.00 plain
Barrel. $350.00
Trigger. $130.00
Bottom metal $225.00
Trued action. $650.00
Rail. $100.00
Sub total. $2105.00

I really don't know any reputable smith that will fit, chamber, crown, bed, and test fire for a guarantee .5 MOA for $150.00, but maybe you can find one doing pro bono work.

I'm not trying to be a smart ass, really. My intentions is to help you not make a misguided mistake. You can however find something close to that price in a slightly used custom made by someone like SAC, GA Precision, Black Ops, Louisiana Precision just to name a few great ones. They come up all the time in the Firearms for sale section. Times are hard for some, and that is sometimes good for those looking to buy. Best of luck.
