Just looking for some suggestions on my build. I have a HOWA 1500 varmint 20" in .308, I ditched the houge stock for a B&C Medalist Tactical. I am looking to re barrel the rifle in .260 rem or keep it .308 win have not made that decision yet. I have contacted West Texas Ordnance about performing the work. The rifle will serve a dual purpose as hunting/long range target rig. My questions are concerning West Texas Ordnance; do any of you have experience with them. They were well informed and helpful on the phone for me thus far. Barrel maker suggestions? I have looked into Douglas, Lilja, and Krieger so far. Also, .260 rem is an awesome cartridge, but the .308 is just fine too, I don't know if switching to .260 is worth it. I want the rifle to shoot well, but not become a 15 lbs monster so barrel length is also under consideration. Look forward to hearing from you guys Thanks.
